A Sample Graphic Organizer

CAUTION: Some of the graphic organizers may use words for which the student has not yet learned the spelling rules. Similarly, the student may use such words in describing his responses. Therefore, the tutor should read and write for the student.

 

This might be what it looks like:

 

Fact and Opinion

 

To see if something is a fact, ask yourself, 
“Can this statement be proved?

To check for opinions, ask yourself, 
“Does this tell a thought or feeling?” 
“Would the statement be true all of the time?”

Look for clue words such as 
feel, believe, always, never, none, 
most, least, best, and worst
